This innovative plant transforms food waste into clean cooking gas, addressing both waste management and sustainable energy needs. Operating without electricity, the biogas plant produces approximately 1 cubic meter of biogas daily, equivalent to half a kilogram of LPG.This renewable energy source is efficiently utilized for cooking purposes within the school
In addition to the biogas plant, the Foothills Open Learning Centre has integrated a DEWATS wastewater treatment plant into its infrastructure. Installed by Green Connect, this system operates electricity-free and efficiently treats wastewater generated within the school premises. On a daily basis, around 500 liters of wastewater are treated, ensuring responsible water management practices. The treated water, in turn, is utilized for maintaining the school’s lush garden, completing the cycle of sustainability.
