Green Connect and the National Agro Foundation have forged a strategic partnership to address the challenges of sustainable energy in rural India. This collaboration has been pivotal in the development and implementation of an innovative biogas plant. While Green Connect brings its expertise in green technology, the National Agro Foundation plays a crucial role in identifying deserving beneficiaries and providing generous sponsorship for the project.
NAF was founded by Shri C. Subramaniam, a key figure in India’s development, who significantly contributed to the Constitution and served in various ministerial roles. Recognized as the Architect of India’s Green Revolution, he established NAF on his 90th birthday. The foundation aims for sustainable development in education, economy, environment, and empowerment, with diverse divisions focusing on agriculture, agri-business, watershed management, training, social development, laboratory services, and research and development.
The newly developed biogas plant by Green Connect is a testament to innovation and efficiency. With an input capacity of 50kg of cow dung per day, the plant generates 2 cubic meters of biogas daily, equivalent to 1kg of LPG. Its standout features is, high biogas pressure for cooking, easy transportation to remote areas, quick installation and a mosquito-free design to ensure fast cooking and a hygienic environment. This unique combination of efficiency and thoughtful design sets the plant apart, making it an ideal solution for rural communities.
Beneficiary identification and installation are integral aspects of the project. Green Connect, in collaboration with the National Agro Foundation, has successfully installed 15 biogas plants based on this model. These installations are strategically located in Solakpally and Amdoor near Hyderabad, Telangana. The National Agro Foundation, through its CSR project, has generously sponsored these 15 plants, benefitting deserving farmers in these regions. The careful selection of beneficiaries ensures that the impact of the biogas plants is maximized, contributing to sustainable energy practices.
Beyond the technical details and installation processes, the success of this initiative lies in the positive feedback received from the beneficiaries. The beneficiaries utilize biogas as their daily cooking fuel for a minimum of two hours. Additionally, they receive liquid manure from the system’s outlet, employing it for agricultural purposes on their farm. The collaboration between Green Connect and the National Agro Foundation showcases the potential in driving impactful and sustainable initiatives in the renewable energy sector.
Green Connect’s collaboration with the National Agro Foundation in developing and implementing mosquito-free biogas plants is a significant step towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly future. This initiative not only addresses the immediate energy needs of rural communities but also promotes environmental consciousness and community well-being. As these 15 plants stand as symbols of progress, they invite us to join the movement towards a greener and more sustainable tomorrow.
